due to the gas situation I recently started to use cruise control. set at 60 mph. we were averaging around 8.5 mpg, now with cruise control it jumped to 9.6 mpg. did experience some wind gusts around 17 so could get even better milage..the difference between 60 mph and 65 mph for 5 hrs is about 30 minutes longer per trip. retired no need to rush.

I find this to be particularly true. Ours is a 2019 with the new Ford 8-cyl Godzilla. If I push the speed to 65mph, I find gas mileage will dip dramatically - 6.5 - 7mpg. But if I hover from 55 - 60 mph I can eek out 9-10 mpg.
I just completed a 3,000 mile trip up to Washington and back to California. The new Ford 7.3 averaged 8.4 mpg pulling a Jeep and keeping it at 59-60 mph. Significantly better then 62-65. Almost by a mile per gallon.
