5 Speed Tranny on the MB, really?

I have been searching MB Sprinter motorhomes and noticed that the Melbourne version of the chassis has only a 5 speed tranny? What's up with that? The Entegra Coach Qwest MB Chassis is 7 speed. That must be the latest?

What do you want us to say?

It is what it is. If you like the rig, buy it and drive it. It will work.

The 19 Sprinters have the 7 speed, the older Sprinters have the 5 speed, exception was the 4 cylinder had a 7 speed. Winnebago offered the 4 in 15 maybe 16 but it was dropped.

Well, thank you for those constructive comments.

I am just disappointed that they are not thinking forward... Both Winnebago and Entegra are building on the latest chassis. I was wondering why Jayco would do this with one of there divisions, (Entegra), and not the other, (Jayco)?

It really would depend what version, (year) of the chassis the house was built on. My 2010 Holiday Rambler was built on a 2008 Ford chassis. So, you could buy a 2019 motorhome that is built on a 2017 or 2018 Sprinter chassis. I guess the best thing is to call the factory and ask...
