blue wire in battery compartment

checking the water level on my batteries ( 4, - 6v ) found a single 16 gage blue wire coming out of the wire loom, with no end on it. Have checked all battery connections on all of them and can not find any missing wire end on any of the connections , and believe me I have checked and rechecked but no end for the wire, its long enough to fit ether + side or - side..................any ideas ????

Are there any loop- or fork-type wire connector lugs attached to any of the battery terminals that do not have a wire to them? It could be a temperature sensor ... or a battery voltage feed ... or a power connection for any of a number of different accessory-type things. If you find a connector without a wire attached, that is prolly where it came loose. You may need to loosen all of the battery terminals to find it. A 16g wire is going to have a pretty small terminal connector on it. \ken

Yes thats the first thing I looked for, took off all the battery lugs, cleaned them, also looked at all the area around there nothing that had an connector without a wire. I had figured that it would be a hot wire, as grounds are usually eather white or black......... trying to get w wiring diagram from Jayco....( unit is an 07 Greyhawk, on an 5500 chassis with an 8.1 vortex ) really don't want to hook it up and burn something out........thanks

Could be a "Spare".. there are often "Spares" in wiring harnesses.

My guess is a temp sensor. It's the only wire that size in my battery compartment.
