Diamond Shield

I have a 2011 Jayco Greyhawk that has been pretty much trouble free since I purchased it used also in 2011. I recently took it out of winter storage from a neighbors garage and noticed the beginnings of what I think is rust on the hood under the Diamond Shield.

I did some reading and now wondering if it may be the Diamond Shield itself that may be moldy. Has anyone experienced this issue? And what did you do about it?

What you’re seeing is mildew under the Diamond Shield. This is a common occurrence. There are a lot of threads dealing with this. Some of them have ways to fix it.

Very common issue. The maker of Diamond Shield recommends removal at a 3M authorized repair and installation outlet with immediate reapplication of a new shield and at 5 year intervals. Good luck. The mold is under the film and cannot be removed without removal of the film and will reoccur especially in humid climates.
