Furrion AC freezing up
Just purchased a 2021 Jayco White Hawk. Brand new but having issues with the AC unit freezing up. We are located in Colorado, super dry air. We have run the AC a few times, temp set at 70 with fan on low. After 2 hours the evap coil ices over and the unit shuts down. Outside temp has been 75-80. Humidity outside has been 10-30% .
I did notice the room temp sensor was tucked away in the unit, I have since pulled that to be exposed outside the unit, at the air filter.
Air filter is clean. And drain pan holes are free from obstructions.
Any tips or tricks to continue to get the AC to work? Trying to avoid a lengthy dealership warranty work while in the peak of camping season.

make sure there is no packing maybe still in the return air? if the return (filter area) is allowing air flow and your coil is clean... usually it is a low Freon charge or a bad clogged expansion valve... you can try tapping it with a hard object... but not out of the question that a ball or solder or trash during the mfg is in there...

Not sure about the Furrion...but other RV ACs have a coil freeze sensor...so when you say room temp sensor was tucked away in the unit...are you talking about the freeze sensor that should be stuck in or attached to the coils?

The freeze sensor is supposed to be embedded in the coil, not hanging free. The primary cause of the evaporator freezing is low air flow. The low air flow can be caused by the divider baffle not being properly placed and the unit bypassing air internally. Make sure that this baffle is properly placed and sealed.
The next issue is operating the unit on low fan and lower than normal set temperatures. Put the fan on high continuous speed.

It's the room temp bulb. Labeled as such. The freeze sensor is in the coils.

Thanks for the fan suggestion. I was always told in humid climayes to run on high all the time, and here in the Rocky mountains, it's super dry. I'll give that a shot. And look for a clog

There is a freeze sensor in the coils.
When the ac is running there is some cold air that comes out in the intake (filter side). Each side of the divider spills some cold air, never was tapped down from the manufacturer. I'll do that and see if that's the fix. Thanks!
