Jayco 30 X C class motohome - slide

I like the floor plan for the 30X and and am thinking of purchasing a 2018. It appears that this is only the second year for the large wall slide. I am a little nervous about how well the slide will work. If yo have a 30X with a large slide, I would be interested in your experience with it.

We are looking at the same unit and have similar concerns on the full wall slide. Gives great space and the floor plan is great for us but the weight of that huge slide is a concern also.

Would love to hear from 30X owners experiences.

We have had one for a year now. No problem with the slide at all. It does need a slide topper that I have not had installed yet.

I was not going to get a slide topper. I was thinking that the wind in the South could play havoc with the topper. Why do you want one?

We sometimes camp in wooded areas and leaves fall on top of the slide and have to be cleaned off before closing it.

We have had our 30x for a year now and not one bit of problem with the slide and love the floor plan. I think full wall slides by now industry wide are pretty well fail safe.. Saying that I may not put mine out again!! I would be interested in slide cover if you can find one long enough. I was told that they didn't make them that long.

We just picked up our 30 Xp. We are new to the RV world. We haven't camped yet because we live in the northeast. We packed it with some items and put it in storage. However, we did have a slide cover installed at the dealer. They do make them. We have it installed. Wish us luck in 2018.

I believe the slide toppers keep alot of debris: leaves, dirt, rain, bark or who knows what falls off the trees (chestnuts), etc. off the top of the slide and helps it to last longer without problems. JMHO - but I was also told by an independent RV service man to never buy an RV without one.

Thanks for the info and it is good to know the full wall slides are holding up well. It does make sense that there should be a slide topper to fit the full wall models as we like them as well and have them on our current 5th wheel.

Went to the DC RV show today hoping to see a couple of different Jayco C's and they only had 1 Jayco C but it was a FS bunkhouse model.
