I was looking at the terrible place Jayco located the water pump. I carry a spare and wanted to relocate it for easier replacement. Took the manifold out to get the hoses above the blue horizontal pipe to move the pump down. Not real difficult. Had to add 3 inches to the blue pipe and cut off about 3 inches for the drain pipe.

You are right. Whoever picked the location must never have worked on a motorhome or anything else for that matter. After seeing yours I will be doing the same. Much easier to do at home with full workshop than on road. Thanks for the writeup.

I’m always looking at the rv systems and figuring out things that are most likely to fail and keep tools or parts to fix. It would have not been an easy job to replace the pump on the road as I needed socket extensions and stuff to get to the screws the pump was attached to along with my pex tools and fittings. I have researched manual retraction of the 3 slides and retraction of the hydraulic levelers just in case. I also have a spare control board for the furnace, spare plug, fuel pump and filter for the generator and other stuff.

If I had an extra pump in hand I would mount the second one and plumb with a monual bypass. If you ever have a failure just change the valves to use the backup.....But thats just how Id do it.

That would be doable but in 5 minutes now I can hook up my new spare pump. You wouldn’t believe what I needed to just get it down and accessible.
