Keeping a exit window open

can you modify the arm of the bedroom exit window so that it won't close everytime you bump into it?

With no photo or details as to what you're referring to, I'll say YES. You could modify the window hinge so that opening the emergency exit, the frame falls out of the frame. You could also build a prop that has both ends lock into place so the prop isn't dislodged. Another strategy, hang an escape hammer near the window and just break the glass out of the frame, no need to prop open the window to escape.

You might go to 'User CP' and add details about your Jayco RV in your signature. You left a pretty big gap in information in your question.

I had to modify mine for that very reason. The screws were a bit striped allowing the latch to release the window if you breathed on it. Drilled out the holes a little and replaced the screws with bolts/nuts/lock washers, much better now. As a further mod I had my DW make a velcro on screen to cover the exit window and I made a prop so we could prop it open for cross ventilation, works great.

Does anyone have a bug screen on the rear "escape " window?
I believe it is part of orginal equipment on the coach brochure, I could be mistaken.

I have a 2018 Greyhawk 29mv. Mine did not come with a screen in the rear safety window. I made one to fit. I also use a spring extension to prop the window open. To keep it from over extending i use a small bungie cord to provide tension on the window. This works well and allows good flow through of air in the coach.

We have a precept with an exit window at the back of the RV. No screen. It looks like the latch is for emergency exit only - not to open for ventilation.

I’d love to see some pics of how you folks McGiver’d yours to use as a window without it falling out.

We have 2 exit windows. The side window has a prop rod and screen and can be opened.

The one in the back doesn’t. Has anyone converted this kind to a useable window?

Could you actually escape with that rod in the middle?
