Moving Over Here, If That's OK

Signing the papers tomorrow on a 2020 Pinnacle 32RLTS. Just said goodbye to the few remaining visitors on the Excel owner's forum (Excel went under in 2015). We are trading our Winslow we had for 8 years for the new Pinnacle. It served us well. Prior to that I was on the Monaco owners forum for 9 years due to the 2 Holiday Rambler motor homes we owned. Already changed my signature block.

We actually won't get it for a week or so as we are having the ac/heat pumps exchanged for the low profile versions. Our rv garage has a 13' 6" door height which is the same as the Pinnacle. Should be about 13' 1" with the new units. Also having a Splendide washer/dryer installed. I am also considering a Winegard Trav'ler for Dish. We had one on the Winslow and it worked great, except for the occasional tree. I may get a Pathway X2 but the wife likes to watch some of her shows in the bedroom while I watch mine in the living room. I have read though that the X2 or tailgater type don't play nice with 2 tv's, unless you're on the same satellite.

Any advice or issues to watch for during the PDI would be appreciated. We chose the Pinnacle because the wife liked it best. It did seem to be a little better built than most in that price range. Still, I don't have too high expectations because I know there will be issues. I do like their 2 year warranty.

Had to laugh when I read that. With all your experience you should be GIVING advice on what to look for.

Like the insurance AD that says "We've seen a thing or two." I'll bet you've seen a thing or three.

I'm a gonna step out and say that maybe, just maybe, 10 years is too long to keep an RV. it seems in about that time the refer and the hvac tend to die, and the choice of new rv or repairing is a beating.
I'm thinking 6 years, maybe 8 years max, then pray for a hail storm.
I am fixing to take our new Pinnacle on the road, and the only thing that matters is ...
Mama's happy.
I really like the Pinnacle's axles, cargo capacity, and tires (Goodyear high load range)
I sure hope Mama changes her mind before 2026

I'm just hoping to still be alive in 2026.

I had that argument with my wife about the longevity issue. She felt we could keep it forever. Our Excel had 3 issues during it's 8 years. One was a slide adjustment while it was in warranty, the others a $27 slide roller replacement and a circuit board for the water heater. I do feel it was in great shape but the real incentive was to get something a bit shorter and lighter. I really did not want to drive a dually any more so we went to single rear wheel. It would handle the Excel but the 2000 pound lighter Pinnacle is a better fit.
