Multiplex lighting

2007 Alante. I have multiplex lighting. The set of light switches
behind the passenger seat indicates the lights are on when they are
not and it also fllickers about every 5 seconds. None off the switches work. Any ideas?

Also how is the white plastic plate around the switches attached. Is it
possible to snap it off??
Thanks

Dave

Yes the switch cover snaps off, but be careful not to break as they can be tight. Not sure about you issue, never had that problem.

First, does everything associated witht the switch work?
May want to make sure you don't have a bulb element shorted. Long shot, but have seen them do weird things.
Be sure to check all fuses on the relays. There should also be some bridge/relays in the driver side basement ceiling, depending on your coach and equipment. Also on each of the multiplex relays, there are led's that indicate each circuit is operating. Turn off everything and check all the relays/bridges and look for a lighted led. If you find one, then pull the associated fuse and see if the switch panel goes to normal.
I have also seen connections due to the 3M connectors on the duplex wires being installed wrong at the factory and wires pulling out of them. This is a hard trace, but have found at least 2 in the past. Keep us informed.
You could have a bad relay/bridge or switch panel.
Did this just happen or when stored or after dead batteries or ......

Dave, carefully pry the cover plate off the wall with a small screwdriver. You can then unscrew the multiplex panel behind, remove it and unplug the wiring harness, leaving off for a minute or so...then reattach and check to see if it's working. If not, you may need to replace the switch panel. I've had two of them go bad and Bishop can re-program the switch for you.

Multiplex Lighting

Rob: I think that I tried almost all of your suggestions. All of the lights work from other switches. It just happenened while we were parked in a campgrond in Fredricksburg, TX last weeek. The batteries are OK. Thanks for your info.

Slabman: I agree with you about getting into the back of the switch and see what is going on. Thanks. I'll work on it tomorrow and let you know.

No DW is telling me the refer/freezer quit working. Does it ever end??
