New Pickup on 2016 Precept 35S

Hello!

After our first year of RV owning - we are upgrading!
About a year ago .... bought my first RV. Sight unseen on ebay, a 2002 Winnebago Adventurer 37G. Its needed some DIY wrenching and repairs, but its been fantastic and very fun. We used it 25 weekends in the last 1 year!

So we went to an RV show and are upgrading to a 2016 Precept 35S. It looked like a nice unit, lots of storage, and the dashboard A/C worked!

We should be picking up the Precept this Friday.

Who has one of these? Is there anything particular I should make sure of etc during the pickup and dealer walk-through? Or any general advice

Thanks

Welcome

SSpano, good luck with your new unit. There is so much advice I could give you, I wouldn’t know where to start. So, let’s start here. Go to the Jayco Owners forum, Communities, Precept Owners group. We have about 180 Precept owners sharing information all the time. Whatever subject you name, has been discussed in depth on the forum. Hope to see you there.
Bob

Welcome to the forum. Sspano01 - You are buying it at an RV show but you did not mention if it is used or is it a leftover model that’s been sitting on a dealer’s lot? If new then it will come with a 2 year warranty. If used you might get a minimal dealer warranty. I mention this because if it has the Jayco 2 year warranty then you will be very happy with Jayco Motorized CS if you ever need service. I bought the same model exactly a year ago and have been very pleased with it although I do have a major warranty issue that Jayco will be repairing in April at the factory. Also, one item to check out is the headlight alignment. I found out on my drive home from my PDI (300 miles) that the dims pointed almost straight down and the brights were where the dims should have been. I got it taken care of at a local truck service center and was reimbursed by Jayco under warranty. You will eventually find out whether or not you like the Girard tankless water heater and as Bobs A Class mentioned you can read all about these items and others on the Jayco Owners Forum. Once the bugs are all worked out (or if you’re fortunate and don’t have any) you will really enjoy the Precept lifestyle. Good luck and safe travels.

OK so I just realized how stupid I am as I did not realize how old the original post was. I knew my eyes were getting bad but now I just confirmed it. 2016? Really? I apologize to all you forum readers out there and I thank you for not making fun of me in public.
