Unable to connect to Winegard 2.0 for setup

Hi. My Alante 27A came with the Winegard 2.0. I was trying to connect to it to configure the unit but for some reason the default wireless SSID is not showing up. I do have a switch plate on one of the cabinets with a Winegard label and it has a coax port and a PWR ANT and WIFI PWR buttons.

When switching off the PWR ANT I lost the OTA channels.. good but with the WIFI PWR on/off I can’t see the default SSID. I am assuming power to the unit is fine as the TV channels are gone when PWR ANT is off.

Any idea? Am I missing something?

Do you actually have the router on the ceiling? or is it just provisioned to add the wifi option

With the Winegard Connect 2.0 I don't need a separate router (I'm almost sure) but because I can't connect to it as the SSID is not broadcasting I can't tell you 100%.

I checked the OM and I should be able to see the SSID and connect to it and then I should be able to connect to a Web Portal page included with the unit and do initial configuration / change SSID / PWDs / Use WIFI or 4G-LTE (with a SIM card of course)...

do you have the box on the ceiling of your RV that I posted in the Video?

IF yes, Take it down and see if you have power.

I checked behind the winegard switch plate inside the house and in fact the cables were connected using wrong polarity. Quick fix.

Don't you have to get a sim card from Verizon, T-Mobile, or Winegard in order for it to work? I'm having the same problem, well it's probably not a problem but I'm new to this and don't know what I'm doing.

Our Winegard shuts down if not accessed for a long period. Turning the power off and back on wakes it up.

How do you know the wires are backwards?

My '22 Precept Winegard isn't working -- nor is the TV when using campground cable (staff came to site to check signal strength, it was fine.) My son, who works as IT mgr for a nearby town, tried to gelp, but it appears there's no power to the Winegard unit -- when I went on roof to change sim card and push reset button, the LED light was off (yes, it was turned on at the switch plate inside cabinet.)

It's going in to dealer this Tuesday, but any ideas, anyone?

Had the same problem on our brand new Vision XL 34G. No SSID being broadcast. Went on the roof to look at the unit, no led light at the unit. I.e. no power. Took it back to the dealer. Sure enough they found that the 12v leads going into the unit had been installed backwards, 12v to ground, ground to 12v. They swapped it around and now it works perfectly. Anyway something to look at or mention at the dealer.

Yep, I switch my wires and it's work pretty good.
