White Hawk 27RB Battery Tray Weight Limit

I recently replaced the Jayco supplied Interstate Marine/RV 12 volt battery with two Trojan T-105 6 V batteries. Following the installation I became concerned about the battery tray weight capacity. The following is Jayco's and Bal Industries (trailer frame manufacturer) guidance.

Sheena,

I’ve completed the analysis on the battery tray on the White Hawk 27RB and can provide a 125 lb tray rating. I believe this should cover the weight of the customer’s two batteries and still have a very reasonable safety factor. To perform this analysis I had to make a few assumptions: the tray angle welds were per print (two approximately 1” welds towards the end of each angle to the a-frame tubes), the angles have not previously been damaged or overloaded, and that the batteries that the customer is using fit the tray without excessive clearance. I would request that the customer visually inspects the tray and welds for previous damage and make sure that he checks the actual tongue weight of the trailer after adding the second battery so it doesn’t exceed the hitch, tow vehicle, or Jayco’s tongue ratings. The customer can use the bathroom scale method from this link to measure the tongue load of the trailer without buying a special scale or paying for weighing: https://www.etrailer.com/faq-how-to-...ue-weight.aspx

I hope this is the info you were wanting!
