06 Dynasty Door Air Seal

Seems like the air seal on our 06 Dynasty may not be doing it's intended job - wind/road noise seem loud. It also appears that a prior owner may have attempted to do a repair on the seal with electrical tape.

Are these seals available? How does the air seal system work?

Thanks

I would check with the REV group for a new seal. They had my none air seals in 2017.

You will have a heat attack when you get a price. If the seal has just a few small cracks you can fix it with black silicone.

There is an adjustable regulator on the exterior of the firewall. Passenger side. You can follow the rubber tube to a connection for the seal. The seal expands when you have the motor running and in gear. There is also a board in the front run bay that provides the logic.

I looked for a replacement for my door seal. I donít think itís salvageable. I found a supplier that sells a profile pretty close to what Monaco used. Iím going to make a project out of fabricating a new one.

I googled inflatable seals and boats and found them.

You might check with "Steele Rubber". They have MANY extruded shapes for classic cars. Find a cross section that looks like yours and you can order it by the foot / yard.
I did find the right cross section for my coach door, and it works fine.
