'06 HR Imperial-removing control panel containing park brake, trans control, HWH leve

I need to replace rocker switch controlling windshield shade. This switch along with switches for exhaust brake, tag lift, etc is contained in this panel. Can one merely remove all screws and lift up the panel or does one need to remove side wall panel and come up from under? What does one need to be very attentive to if lifting the panel and how far can one lift it?

Are you sure it is the switch. On my dynasty it was a wire connector at the shade

Is this the panel on the left of driver? Mine has the parking brake plunger installed in it so if I need to get into that area I usually take off the side panel to access under it. Unless I disconnect the plunger, the panel is not going to move very much.

My panel is simulated wood, but it's just plastic. It gets brittle over the years so be gentle.

I've had our lifted on our '06 Dynasty. Not a difficult thing. But as Bill said, be VERY careful, as the panel does get pretty brittle. And be very careful not to overtighten the screws, or you will be getting out the superglue.

And no, I don't recall having to come up from below. There was enough play in the wire bundles and the air lines to allow it to come up far enough to do what I needed to do.

I removed the drivers left panel on my coach last night. Several screws on both sides and it lifts out. Some of the wires (HWH) are very short so just be careful.
It's alway a good idea to inspect everything when you have any of these panels open.

Take pictures. Whenever you open up something normally hidden, take pictures.
