On my rig the booster switch activates the big boy solenoid that connects the battery banks when charging together. If your salesman switch is on and the booster switch is not working, it's either a blown fuse, a bad switch or a bad big boy solenoid. If the big boy solenoid is bad it might explain your battery problems.

After reading the original issue again I am inclined to think there may have been two problems, Or as Gorlininc suggests you may have one more or it may have been the problem to begin with.

Those "big boy" solenoids can open and close and intermittently make proper contact. This can lead to all kinds of mysterious issues.

Your original post said you had batteries checked and they were ok. Did that mean the ones you had checked were actually fully charged??? And if they were your "Boost" button had not been successful.

And yes, the salesman switch probably has to be functioning for the Boost switch to work.

SO. If it was mine the "Big Boy" relay would be replaced as a maintenance item due to their common failure.

If you want some eye opening information on this search for Battery, Bird, and you will find many pages of information.

Go to post 28 and 29. 28 has many files on the subject and 29 has a picture of one of the big boys opened up. Mine was fool of green goo and at less than one year old I had to repair it. I have replaced it twice since.
