Navistar and Cummins have always had a good relationship with one another.
I was at the Huntsville Engine Plant this past October and all I saw was a very busy plant with hundreds of square feet of engines waiting to ship. No one there that I spoke with alluded to any type of slow down or cease if production in fact with the improving economy, I would expect that there will be more engines coming from Huntsville.
According to recent press, Dynasty is scheduled for the 2014 model year to be powered by the MF13. The MF13 is Navistar's "keystone" power plant as it is the engine that powers the majority of the OTR tractor fleet. ISX will be used in the ProStar tractor which is Navistar 's big hauler. I believe that Navistar will sell more 13s that ISXs.
MaxxForce engines are not manufactured in any manner inconsistent with best practices. They are made in the USA in a manufacturing zone known to have workers with the highest skill set in the highest technology corridor in the USA. I would be pleased to drive a motorhome powered by either a Cummins or a MaxxForce engine.
Within the next few weeks MaxxForce is expected to begin transitioning to an SCR solution to meet GHG14 requirements which are quite demanding. All diesel manufacturers will be achieving GHG14 and I expect that the emission issue should fall off the radar screen when we consider which engines to buy.

Thanks DriVer, you have a wealth of knowledge. Always amazes me how far off the press ran with all of this, and how confusing it all became to everyone.
