07 Monaco Diplomat A/C
When I turn on the AC in my 07 Diplomat it takes several minutes before starting. 3-5 minutes. When I turn it off it stops immediately. Duo-Therm thermostat. Original I believe.
In my previous Fleetwood, turning on the AC would immediately start the fans and after a minute or two you would hear the compressors start. When shutting down the fans would run for a minute or two before the AC shut down completely.
Both hooked to shore power. Mainly concerned about the Diplomat-is this normal. Thank You

My air conditioners don’t come on immediately either. Both have been replaced with Penguin IIs and CCC2 thermostats. I don’t know how long it takes, but it’s time enough for me to wonder if it’s going to come on.

Our front starts immediately and the rear has delay. I figured it was in case the AGS was starting up the AC units.

Hi GDGorsuch; As Dennis posted, same as in my 01 Windsor. I have the original heat pumps and the A/C units on my previous 2000 Windsor did the same. Some sort of time delay and not sure why but they always start up after a few minutes.

On my -04 HR Imperial, the compressor will engage approx. 2 minutes after blower motor activation.
If I recall, I don't think there is much delay when I shut it off.

The delay exists in case there is head pressure present at the compressors, such as a shut down and immediate restart. The delay insures any head pressure will leak off prior to restart.

Yep, seems like forever in my 08 and I have an original AC and a new one. They act just the same.
