08 Dynasty

Going to look at a 2008 dynasty, does anyone have any advise about what to be paying attention to.

Price and condition. Check with the guys at Monaco Coburg they would also know what kind of issues are popular with the 2008 Monaco Dynasty or the internet. deSanford

I currently own a 03 Knight , so I am wondering if this model year has any areas that could be a cause for concern. It looks great in photos and I will get a chance to examine soon.

Ok thanks,

I don't have a Dynasty and I understand the chassis differences but I will mention this;

Again I'm not sure if the framework around the windshield is the same but I have met (3) 2008 Monaco/ Holiday Rambler owners with windshield issues. Its a problem that I just had rectified in our 2008 Scepter. After 3 failed attempts to reseal the windshield I was at a loss for the ongoing leak issues we had in our Scepter.

The windshield will "slide" down the fiberglass frame which allows enough displacement of the urethane to allow leakage. Generally it can be spotted on the ground from the outside. Have a look at the 2 top corners of the windshield outer seal, if its pushed in or displaced - the windshield has moved. Another sure sign of this problem is look for where the outer seal joins, both ends should meet neatly and not be seperated.

I finally found a shop here in Ontario which has fixed a number of these coaches - from other model years too. The fix is to create a "build up" of fiberglass or a shelf if you will for the bottom lip of the glass to sit on. This provides the extra support it needs during chassis flex and road travel. The fiberglass gets primed and painted and is not seen once the windshield is reinstalled with new urethane and a new outer seal.

I have no other remarkable comments about our 2008 - just all the standard house stuff that needs tweaking and repairing. It might be prudent to see if anyone has replaced the shocks on the unit that your looking at - they may be original. I just finished putting Bilsteins on the front of our coach, I will do the back 6 next.

I have a friend who took delivery on an '08 Dynasty 40' back in June at Northtrails in Fort Myers, FL and moved in full time when they picked it up. They had never owned or traveled in an RV of any type before. They are currently in Texas hill country & have had no issues.

The Dynasty is on Monaco's S Series semi monocoque chassis and has had no windshield issues. Shocks are OEM Bilsteins.

You should have a sample of the engine oil and transmission fluid analyzed and the AquaHot and Onan checked out by someone qualified. Tires were probably built in '07 or earlier so replacement should be built into the purchase price.

We currently own an 08 Dynasty 42 ft. Great MH. I cannot think of anything serious. Rides like a dream. There is no comparison from a Dynasty/Sig to your Knight. Being as you have not even seen this unit I would come back here after a viewing and road test and ask questions. I will be glad to help as will others.
