09 HR Endeavour plumbing question

I was looking at the water filter location behind the hot water heater via a small access panel in the pass through bay and was trying to follow the plumbing lines.

Two questions.

1. The water heater bypass is oriented in such a way that I can’t see the plaque identifying which way to orient the handle for bypass or “on”. I’m guessing if vertical it is on and horizontal would be bypass. Can anyone confirm. It’s winter and snow on the ground therefore I can’t test until the spring.

2. I can see a hot water line out of the heater along with a cold line but lose sight as they leave the compartment, but there is another red 3/4 or 1” line that goes into what appears to be a fitting into a black tank, or cover but nothing else. Above would be the shower and the curb side panel is fixed in place ahead of the rear tires. Any idea what this line is going to? Does anyone have a plumbing schematic for the HR or Monaco of this type or vintage?

Thank you,
Greg

The line going to the black tank may be a line to flush the tank and clean it.
