12 Volt System Problem

Hi, I have a 2003 Holiday Rambler Vacationer.
What's happening is I have the Motor home hooked up to 50 amp shore power
and if I go out to check on it and turn on the Radio or try to start the generator
I lose all 12 Volt power. I have had a mobile RV repair come out and after a lot of $$ he said I needed new batteries. I was running two 6 volts and he said that I should run 1 - 12 Volt so purchased a Deep Cell 12 volt battery the next day. All was well for a few days I went out to check on the motor home
turn on the radio and lost all 12 volt power. After messing with it all day I
found that if I disconnected the battery cables and reconnected them I
got back my 12 volt power. If anyone has any ideas on what's going on I would
appreciate any help I can get.

Thank You,
Tom

If moving the cables get things working again, follow the cables away from the battery.

Could be a corroded or loose ground connection or bad connection on a breaker or fuse on the positive cable. That should be within a few feet of the battery.

Thank you for your response, the only way it resets is if I remove the cables and reconnect them.

Tom,
Do you have a switch by the door that turns your ceiling lights & things off ?
Some coaches do not have this feature .
If yours does , check it , that sw activates a relay , that relay goes bad and
causes problems .
My relay is in the elect bay just in front of the drivers front tire yours may
be somewhere else .
Get someone to listen while you turn the sw off & on maybe you can find the
rlay .
Many of us have bypassed the relay since we never used it anyway .
