120 VAC Not Working in BoonDock Mode

Hi All,

When I have the coach plugged in to shore power or the generator is running, I have 120V to the coach. With generator off or coach unplugged, I cannot get the 120V in the coach. When I push the invertor button to on first time, nothing. When I push the button a second time the inverter on indicator will light and the 120V comes on for about 3 seconds, then off.

When troubleshooting this, I toggled the salesman switch and the 120V came back on. Later, when I tried to repeat the process, the 120V would not come on. I feel that this should be some simple issue that I am not seeing. I looked at the inverter and can't "see" anything unusual. I have not replaced anything or performed any maintenance actions on the coach.

The only think I did recently was to top off the distilled water in the batteries. This was done without incident. Both Coach disconnect switches off, engine off. Shore power unplugged. The only thing I had to do was disconnect the positive and negative connectors on two batteries to remove the fill cap. Replaced without issue. When I did this, I disconnected the positive terminal first and when I got to the other battery, I disconnected the negative terminal. Could this have anything to do with this issue? I did get the 120V to come on when toggling the salesman switch.
Thank you in advance for suggestions and ideas.

Try rebooting your invertor AFTER you 2x check your battery cables for tightness and make sure cables haven’t popped out of the connectors.
I think it’s better practice to shut the invertor off before disconnecting battery cables.

If you have no 120v load it could be your inverter is turning off due to search watts setting.

Rlott2k,

Thanks for the suggestion. I did do just that and the 120V came back on. The LED was blinking 4x/sec and looks like it was searching. Thanks so much.

Biljol,

Yes, that was waht it was doing. It was in search mode. The on/off reset was what it wanted.

Bobby F,

Inverter is a Trace RV2012. I'm glad it came back after a power reset. I will continue to monitor it. Thank you all for all the replies.
