1994 HR Analog Odometer Gauge not working

I have an analog VDO 8712 Imp/Mile speedometer in my '94 HR and currently on an extended trip in Colorado. My Odometer has stopped working, although the actual speedometer continues to operate correctly. The odometer quit working when I pushed the reset button for the trip meter, resetting it to zero. After the last reset it and the odometer quit working with the odometer at 132,748 miles. I am currently documenting mileage through my GPS in a Manual log. Any suggestions?

I had a similar situation. I ended up replacing the entire speedometer. Mine went 130,000 miles. There is a place in ft.lauderdale that can add your old mileage to a new one if needed. Fairly simple replacement. Just watch the the wiring. The new speedo wasn't an exact duplicate. The plugs were in different positions. Happy Motoring.

Thanks. Do you remember the company in Ft. lauderdale? Did you buy the replacement from them or did you send them one that they updated?

Phone # is 954-522-4885. ask for Paul. I have not sent them mine yet. I thought it was best to run the new one for a while to make sure it is going to work. Mine was a VDO speedometer that I bought from Spartan. Price was about $200.00 delivered. Happy Motoring.
