1998 Dynasty vs 2002 Diplomat

Whats the difference in the build of a 98 monaco dynasty and a 2002 monaco diplomat. Is one structurally better than the other? I had read somewhere that the dynasty is built different but it did'nt say how.

Hi Rodrigo; The 98 Dynasty like mostly all to follow are built on a Roadmaster all steel Semi-Monocoque chassis with 8 air bags and a side radiator. The Diplomat uses the 8 air bag suspension & rear radiator but has aluminum side walls that are bolted to the chassis not welded like the Dynasty. If you go to the Monaco web site and look up the Dynasty's that are listed in the brochures they usually show the exploded view of the chassis and it's framing along with an explanation of the design construction. The Semi-Monocoque is a very strong design, but heavy. My 01 Monaco Windsor is of the same design and that is one of the reasons I bought it. The brochures on the Monaco web site will give you some insight on how certain models are built in the Monaco line up. Hope this answers some of your questions.

Agree with 8.3Oilburner but would also add that the overall hierarchy of the models. The Dynasty is 3rd in line from the top and the fit and finish is way above the Diplomat, which was 6th in line behind the Windsor and Camelot.

However over time Monaco would incorporate the same high end features in the lower end models as new model years came out. So a feature that was first introduced in a Dynasty may show up in a Windsor 1 or 2 years later. A good example my the the Mulitpex control system, it was first introduced in the high end models and then into the lower end models as time went by.

The build quality of my Windsor is very good, the cabinetry is outstanding. A real WOW factor when we first walked into it prior to buying.
