1998 Holiday Rambler Endeavor alt replacement

I'm the lucky owner of a 98 Endeavor. It came from the wife's parents and has been sitting for years. They put in new start batteries and it runs but the alternator does not charge the batteries. Does anyone know where there is a site with the instructions on how to change an alternator with the 5.9 cummins? I crawled under it and found has a Gm alternator with the 2 wire connector like all GM alts have. The terminals on the 2 wire plug are corroded and I had to use pliers to pull the plug off. Everything under there looks corroded and no doubt it needs the alternator replaced. So I looked around and see people say throw some cardboard and old blankets on top of the engine and jump into the middle of it and start ripping it out. I'm looking for something a bit more step by step.
