1998 Monaco Dynasty cooling fan on rear passenger side ?

Another newbie question I am sure veterans to the business can help me with. We had our new to us 1998 Dynasty safety checked and the shop said they removed a lot of gravel that was stopping a smaller cooling fan from running. It is not near the rad rather the other side of the rig. I assume its a fan that is meant to provide additional cooling for the Cummins block ?
My issue is I have not seen it running much. Can any one tell me how it works (thermostat ?) etc and when does it run and when does it not. Also if it is not working where do I start to trouble shoot.

I don't remember anyone ever posting about a fan not on radiator. Maybe added after .Is it electric ? on passenger side grill ?. Maybe it was installed to help remove heat under bedroom after parked and or on a thermostatic switch.

Dash A/C condenser fan???

It's controlled by a thermostat under the engine hatch under the bed. Mine was on the
left side just under the hatch. The fan is to pull the heat from under the bed hatch
and around the engine.

Exactly as Old Guy said, have the same setup on my 97 Dynasty, it does work if placed in "manual" on the thermostat, otherwise have never heard it come on.
