1999 HR Endeavor overheating

My has the 5.9 and it overheats when I am running hwy speed and in the hills. The exhaust manifold has 2 cracks but I do not see any exhaust residue around the cracks, maybe they are not leaking. I have read about cleaning the charge air cooler, is there a good way to clean while it is still in the RV? Any other suggestions on what to look for?

Had the same heating issue on our old '99 Diplomat with the ISB 5.9. Bottom line is that the coach is simply under powered. Ours always got us to where we were going, but living near and driving in the Colorado mountains I spent a lot of time climbing in 3rd gear. That kept the engine revs up to better circulate coolant. Still had to stop and let the engine cool down occasionally when on a long hard pull.

To clean the charge air cooler, assuming yours is a rear radiator model as our was, I sprayed a degreasing agent on it as best I could, having to spray through the radiator from one side, and directly on the cooler from the other side. Let the degreasing agent set for a few minutes then spray with the hottest water you can access to wash out the degreasing agent and any contaminants it loosened.

If your exhaust manifold is leaking you are loosing drive pressure to the turbo charger which would add to the heating issue.
