2000 HR Ambassador Fuse Location
Hello,
I have a 2000 HR Ambassador. I'm having trouble locating the fuse that feeds the passenger seat heater and the cigarette lighter plug on the panel next to the door and above the porch light and steps switch.
I've checked both panels in the basement compartment forward of the driver side wheel. I also checked the rear panel above the bed. No luck finding a bad fuse.
Any thoughts on where else I should look would be greatly appreciated.

Check the plugs (wire connections) under the seat.

Thanks BoJango,
I checked and all seems good there. What happened is I plugged a GPS into the cig. plug and it had a short in the cord and I assume it blew a fuse as I no longer have power at the cig. plug or seat heater.

A 12 volt fuse most likely popped. You can check them with a multimeter without pulling them.

By simply moving and wiggling the plug that plugged the wires together underneath the passenger's seat mine starting working. That's why I think that's where your trouble lies.

I, however, would check the 12 volt fuses again.

Find it yet?
I had something similar with my cigarette lighter plug on the dash. Turned out to be a fuse marked "Accessory"

Hi Bob, No haven't found it yet. Fellow at the last campground said it might be a circuit breaker instead of a fuse, but he had no idea where to find it.

Good point. My 2003 Endeavor seat controls *ARE* fused through a circuit breaker on the board under the drivers seat (FRB). They look like small metal cans.
I would think the cigarette lighter plug next to the passenger seat would be a different fuse or maybe circuit breaker.

The schematic for a 2000 Ambassador shows Front Run Bay fuse 11 for the 12v power outlet and fuse 3 for power seat, fuse 4 for optional power seat. Granted, that the schematics are often wrong

Thanks Bob and rske,
I'm away from it for a few days, but when I get back I'll see what I can find.
Thanks again, Marc
