Off the top of my head early motorhomes had a solenoid to unlock the doors. It was probably from a truck or an auto. I think the keypad was from a Cadillac or Lincoln and mounted to the left side wall next to the door. There was an interface possibly to the alarm system. Telemark I think is the name of the system from that time frame. I don't think you'll find a keypad locking device to just drop in your door as is. Real good chance current assembly is tri-mark brand I see solenoids from tri-mark. But you may get creative and use a fob and a receiver with board and relays to one of these type of solenoids. Of course you'd have to run 12 volts to the door.
There's a common issue with some of these doors. Of the pair of latch rods getting stretched and then people getting locked in or out of their motorhome. There are several threads with pics and some videos on how to remove the door pad/cover. And adjust the rods. Maybe you can lay eyes on the inside of a door that had the solenoid door unlock mechanism.
I've never read of anybody undertaking this from scratch. It would be much easier on a single latch trailer door. Your motorhome has a double latch and interior latch like an automobile what's a slide lock also to a rod.
