2001 Endeavor chassis type/shock replacement

We recently purchased a 2001 38wds Endeavor. After owning a Fleetwood Prowler TT, junk, I'm very impressed with the HR quality. The coach has been sitting for years and had a lot of minor issues that needed to be fixed. I have most of that done and the tires replaced and we are about ready to take our first trip.

I am not sure what chassis this has. It certainly looks like an RR8R to me. 8 airbags and 8 shocks. Anyone have any insight? When i look at the Bilstein web site it does not list shocks for the 01 chassis. It has Monroe 555014 in the front and 555015 in the back. Bilstein could not cross the Monroe numbers over to one of there shocks and referred me to Source Engineering. Jim quoted me $150 per shock for the tuned shocks. I see 46mm Bilsteins for $75 ea. can anyone provide me with the Bilstein numbers. I could have asked Jim but it didn't seem fair if I was going to buy from someone else.

If you can't provide numbers for the shocks does anyone have a vendor they would recommend?

call them, they should have an upgrade to use the 2004 version.

Prior to selling my 2001 Dynasty 38PBS with the Roadmaster chassis I replaced the OEM Bilsteins with ride enhanced Bilsteins from Source Enginering. If you are going to keep your Endeavor for a while I would strongly recommend the upgrade over standard Bilsteins.

Scott E shock is generaly the best price on Bilstein shocks but they show 04 to 11 at $79.25 ea for the comfort shock, I called Bilstein in Cal to find out the if the end mounts were the same and everyone in the know wont be back until Monday and I am supposed to get a call from them by noon?? if they call I will post the part # for you but double check the mounting hole size.

Don't want to hijack this thread but I am looking for information. Went to replace the shocks on my RR8R chassis with Bilstein Comfort shocks and was told that the manufacturer was retooling and shocks were not available until December.

Anyone else heard this story?

Dial and Scott call e shock at 800-303-6211 and let them know the type mounts that you have on top and bottom of your shock the front and rear should be the same type mounts but check. I believe they will have the comfort shock you need.

when I spoke to Bilstein, they said the comfort shock used before 2004 was too soft and will let the coach roll and wallow, they recommended a stiffer shock.

It was like night & day, talk to them not a dealer

Jumbo your endeavor is a Freightliner chassis w/4 air bags and 4 shocks is that correct ? If so then the 8 bag And 8 shock Roadmaster would be a completely different deal.

The coach is a road master RR8R.
