It depends on where you are, what is the temp outside.

When we get ready to leave on a trip we start the fridge 2 days before. One trip we learned was to transfer frozen water bottles to both freezer and fridge, helps the cool down.

I am currently boondocking at a house we are building. I have 2 remote thermometers in the freezer and fridge. On mild days the freezer will get to -4 and refrigerator to ~38. On hot days freezer at ~4 and fridge at 42.

I also have a booster fan on the bottom of the outside blowing up to get better ventilation.

Long story short >>>> it depends

I can't remember the fan make/model but it is the one you can mount on the bottom. It is ~4" diameter and had a thermal switch that turns it off/on as the refrigerator is working.

If I had to do it again I'd investigate the computer type cooling fans and mount 3-4 of them across the top of the vent stack.

I keep a remote temp monitor in both freezer and fridge. I can get the freezer to -4F but the fridge will only go to 38F.

So if you are seeing 34F you way ahead of the game.
