2002 Monaco Dynasty Galley Light Fixture

Greetings, I'm a new member and this is my first post. We purchased this coach in November 2023. A lot of repairs have been completed by a professional repair facility, and by myself. I learned from reading information on this site as a guest. I'm currently trying to replace the florescent tubes in the galley overhead fixture. The fixture frame is wood with 3 plastic diffusers.
I removed the 4 wood screws to drop the frame, but it still won't come down. I tried tapping it with a rubber mallet, it won't budge. I tried gentle leverage between the frame and ceiling, still won't budge. The diffusers have very limited movement, won't slide to uncover the tubes. What am I missing?
I appreciate any help provided.

The wood frame should come off, mine is the same way. You might try using a thin stiff putty knife and run it around the perimeter and see if you can break the frame loose.

FWIW, I converted all my fluorescent lights to LED using the ribbon light with adhesive on the back. Took each fixture out, removed the ballast and tube holders, cleaned them up and added the strips. Cost less the new bulbs and use less electricity.

For the light above the kitchen area I took all 3 of those lights out and used a piece of plexiglass and attached ribbon LED strips to it.
