Looked at a Monterrey Laguna today with a 400 ISC. Is this on the RM chassis or the Beaver chassis? Seller claimed RM. Some explanation describing both and the take on this 400 ISC motor would be greatly appreciated. In the early stages of used DP shopping.

this site will provide the original brochures and take your time and look over all models because the Monterey is there and Yes it is the Roadmaster M Series Chassis

It is a Roadmaster "M" series chassis with 8 airbags which is actually a renamed SMC Magnum B-Series (Magnum Air) chassis. It is not an RR8S.

Its also not a 400hp Cummins ISC. If its an ISC, then its probably 330 or 350hp. If its actually 400hp, then its a Cummins ISL.

Unless that Monterey was special ordered, it has a Cat motor and not a Cummins. That year Monterey came standard with the Cat C9 at 350 hp optionally tuned to 400 hp. So, if it is legitimately a 400 hp motor, then it is the Cat C9.

Mine has an ISC 350. I do see a lot of them listed with the Cat.

Just out of curiosity what made you scratch this one? We love our Beaver it is a very quality built coach.

The gauges didn’t all work and the Aqua Hot didn’t work and they had installed a residential water htr. The seller was a flipper. He did tell me about the Aqua Hot and the gauges however. The finish on the front cap was a little messed up from someone removing the 3M film. I guess I just didn’t have that feeling. I’m new to looking at DP’s too. Looks a lot better in the photos of course. I know it is 16yrs old.

It was pretty nice on the inside and the topside looked very good too.
