Smile 2004 Beaver Patriot Ticonderoga 400 38'

Hello fellow members. I am considering purchasing this motorhome and would like to know what kind of fuel mileage to expect and is the heat pump that uses either diesel or electricity to heat the coach when parked very economical or efficient. I would appreciate any and all input. Thanks (2004 Beaver Patriot Ticonderoga 38' 2 slide)

Heat pump is an air conditioner that runs "backwards" to pull heat out of the air down to about 34°, then you need supplemental heating. They work very well in moderate climate areas like the Pacific NorthWet. The are always electric in RV's.

I think you might be referring to the aqua hot for heat. I think the aqua hot diesel is very efficient, I wouldn't buy a coach without one. It works on both electric and diesel. They advertise approx. 1/2 gal per hr fuel consumption, but mine only runs about 10- 15 minutes per hour when it upper 30's

What do you estimate your mpg while driving a 400 cummins?

I had a holiday Rambler 45' with 425 Cummins, and we got 7.2 to 7.8 depending on terrain

Here is the brochure:

http://www.beavermotorcoaches.com/pr...t/patriot.html

Our best friends had a Windsor with the Cummins ISL 400 for a few years and we traveled extensively with them. We always did a running tally of mpg for the trip and would recalculate after each fuel up. Most trip legs were between 7.5 and 8.5 unless mountain travel. I think when he traded coaches his over all average was 7.8. That included running the generator some while traveling.
