2004 Windsor vent blew off

Anyone have a pic that could share of the galley fan vent cover? We were driving and heard what sounded like something fell to find out later that the vent ripped off of our galley fan. I called Monaco and they could not tell me where to get another one.

Please share a photo if you have it. Monaco's description is:
Obsolete part.
Attic Fan w/ Wall Thermostat - Standard *Added PN 4/15/04* 4000T

Hi Bearscat; By the look of the fan blades I would say you have a KoolMatic galley fan and it is controlled on the wall by a thermostat. I don't think you will find one and if you do it will be the luck of the draw. Most if not all salvage yards have none of those parts at all anymore. This doesn't mean I would not try looking. Last year an owner of a coach was thinking of replacing the KoolMatic on his Monaco and you should have seen the flood of inquires for parts. He decided to keep the fan. If you could salvage the support frame for the fan shroud I would see about having one fabricated out of aluminum. To me it might not be too hard, but not sure of the cost nowadays. I keep all those plastic parts waxed with a good UV wax to keep them from disciagrating in the sunlight. I am going to guess that is what may have happened to yours. Do a search on salvage yards and you may need to start calling. Hope you find something and good luck in your search!

I'd consider removing the entire fan and housing and replace it with a MaxxFan or Fantastic fan. I think these are 14" x 14", if not mistaken. Those old plastic parts just wear out in the sun and weather.

Maybe you can adapt a rain cover that normally go over crank up vents.
I have seen people cut and shape foam and cover it in fiberglass . Then dig out melt away the foam with solvents.

I've thought about replacing our KoolMatic with a new MaxxFan. I replaced our bathroom Fantastic ceiling fan with a MaxxFan and it works great.
The MaxxFan is a newer design with dual lifting arms. They have several models with and without thermostats, remotes, and rain sensors.

It's hard to beat the power and durability of a galley fan. If you can find a place nearby that does vacuum forming at reasonable price. You could build two positive molds left over flashing could create an outside flanges to hold in place and attach to lower front air dam/clam together. It would be easier if it wasn't gone all together.

Not sure if you did or didn't and i don't have my operations manual with me but I remember seeing that if you don't close your vent, you risk losing it while traveling.

Not sure if you were directing this to me or not. If so Thanks and I haven't done anything to it, but it has been stored inside all of its life when not in use. I wash it about 3 times a year
