2005 Monaco Knight 37PBD Splendide install

We would like to install the WD2100XC with vent in our 2005 Monaco Knight 37 PBD. The spot is under the TV in the bedroom and the cabinette already has the louvered doors. The false rear panel and power outlet are there, but the water lines and drain fitting are down at the bottom behind the false panel.

How difficult is it to run the waster lines up the back wall, install the standpipe, and install the Washer Dryer combo with vent. The vent is not in yet either. Is there an install kit from Monaco with the hoses, fittings and drain standpipe?

Thanks,
Craig

Just go to Home Depot or some such store and pickup a 1 1/2" p trap if it's not already there. If it is all you have to do is extent the stand pipe. It will be 1 1/2" ABS pipe. It needs to be the correct length and the Splendide manual will tell you how high it should be. As far as water supply goes your coach probably is plumbed with PEX so all you need are a couple of tees or couplings to bring it up higher so you can mount a couple of garden hose type valves to connect to the washer. As far as the vent goes Splendide sells a vent kit so you should buy it when you buy your machine. Placement of the vent is the tricky part. At certain times of the year if you look at the coach walls outside particularly on a cold morning you can see where all the supports in the wall are, you don't really want to cut one of those installing the vent. I believe it's a 4" hole that has to be bored in the wall. There are also some brackets that you can buy from Splendide to attach the front legs of the machine to the base that your setting the machine on so it stays in place. It really vibrates when it spins so you really should install the brackets. I installed mine, and it fits like a glove. Almost needed a shoe horn to get it in place though. Mine is in a cabinet in the bathroom and there wasn't much clearance. Wouldn't be without it.

You may want to consider this. When we winter in Fl we use our Splendide weekly. Frequent use and particularly the drying cycle draws a lot of juice through their 110v cord. Our plug and 15amp outlet began to develop a hot spot and some arcing causing the outlet to brown/ burn and the plug to melt slightly. You might want to upgrade the outlet and plug to 20amp types.
