2005 Monaco XX
New to forum and looking at a 2005 Monaco Dynasty Diamond. I have searched around and can not find what the real diifference is between several models like the diamond IV, Earl, Baroness, chancellor..Is it all basically the floor plan or am I missing something in terms of quality in the coaches. I didnt know if certain ones were above(better models) than the others. Thanks for your help. sounds like a great forum and looking forward to helping others
Currently have for sale a 1997 Discovery 38 ft diesel

Most of the difference will be in size and floorplan layout.

Since I have a 2005 Diamond IV, I will jump in and say look for residential refrig. vs norcold 1200, king size bed, air leveling system, drop down ceiling or overhead dash TV location, full tile or carpet between driver and kitchen, stack washer and 220 dryer....probably some other stuff I have forgotten. I have been very pleased with the 42' dynasty diamond IV. I bought it used but with very good service records. I put new tires on right away and took it to Josam's in Orlando to have all chassis and alignment done. I changed all filters (oil, fuel, hydraulic, air). Still have to change air system filter. Check brake rotors for heat cracks and I went ahead and did the wheel bearings at Josams. The ride is great and tracks as if on rails. The 10,000kw generator has plenty to run all three AC's if necessary and then some. The inverter is a 3000w because of the residential refrig. House battery bank has 8 6v batteries. Tag axle provides plenty of capacity in the rear and 10,000lb tow capacity. You do need to pay attention to the tag axle pressure as it can overload the front axle if set too high. The front axle is near max at over 40-45 psi on the tag. There are some other nice features that I don't even use yet (in motion satellite dome, dish satellite. Look for the Girard auto awnings. Wish I could help you with the other floor plans but can't. I can get into everything except some drawers at the foot of the bed when all slide are in. My plan does not have the couch behind the drivers seat but instead has the computer desk/office setup. If you have any questions about the diamond iv, pm me and I will try to answer.

Make sure you check the serial number of the motor and compare it against the Cummins recall. You do not want one of these motors as listed in this link.

As you can see in my picture, I have an '05 Dynasty Diamond IV model... love it. As others have said, most of the different versions are only floor plans and number of slides. Most all have same/similar components. But, several things were options or could be tailored to suit.
We are full-timers so our rig required careful consideration, which the Dynasty fits very well. It is my belief the Dynasty is about the best full-timer rig around.
I have performed many upgrades and changes to my rig to adapt it more to our living. For example, six 100 watt solar panels, reverse osmosis system for drinking water, improved water filters and a bunch of other items that are niceties.
I do not think you can go wrong with an '05 Dynasty.

There is a change of inteior ceiling heights somewhere in there 04-07...if you are taller that may make a big difference to you. All the plans and specs are in the Monaco archive on the site above, by year. Lots of these were ordered with many upgrades of Exec and Sig features so you really need to see them and make your list to compare.
The hunt is at least half the fun. The other half is the great drive ride of the ten bag tag chassis!!!
