2006 Camelot Brake Controller Wiring

After much searching (removing the dash, all panels, etc.) I finally found the harness for the brake controller to the right of the accelerator pedal, not by the light switch! It's an early 2006 model, so the brake signal is reversed- always on 12V, 0V when the pedal is depressed. I've bought a relay, so reversing the signal is no problem.

My question is, where might the fuse for the power wire be? I looked at the driver's side 12V panel and none said trailer or brake controller or anything similar. My brake controller calls for a 20A fuse on the power lead, which I have, but I don't know what the fuse rating is for the power lead in the harness. I'd rather find the fuse than run a new wire just to be sure I have 20A.

I have the schematics from Monaco, but the PDF is unreadable when you zoom in. Anyone have legible ones for a 2006 (early) Camelot?

On an unrelated subject, my formerly non-working Weldex camera works great now that I plugged and unplugged all the connections while I had the dash apart.

Thanks in advance!

Walt

Walt-

Here are two service bulletins that address the issue of the brake signal being the incorrect polarity. If you implement the fix, you shouldn't need the relay you bought.

Monaco Service Bulletin (06-06-05) for Monaco Pre-Wired Coaches (Unified Tow Brake)
Service Bulletin for Monaco Pre-Wired Coaches (Unified Tow Brake)

Here's a link to a Google search for iRV2 posts with the terms "Monaco," "Camelot" and "brake controller" in them. The first listed post ("Brkae Light Trigger ...") has some information that may lead you to the fuse associated with the brake controller power.

Be aware that (as far as I know) 2006 was the first year that Monaco pre-wired for brake controllers.

For other folks looking for their brake controller wires in the front end of their Monaco coaches, here's a link to some some helpful information, circa 2007.

If you need some help chasing down mating connectors, just let us know. I prefer to use them, if I can, rather than splice into wiring.

Mark,

Thanks for the info- I had used the search you suggested but didn't come across those great service bulletins. A simple fix once I find the relay. Still searching for the fuse...

The price and availability of signal tracers is excellent now. I paid hundreds in years past for one. Now every do it yourselfer needs one.
