2006 Diplomat

Yay or nay. It is on a farm auction and there is not much info on it listed.
34,000 miles and it looks like it should be a 40PDQ. That is just a guess.
I know all about the inspections before buying but was just looking for
good and bad so far as general condition from the factory.

Were these the Cummins engines that had trouble with the #6 valve?

It is possible that the engine could have been recalled and possibly not repaired. Certain ISL engines with serial numbers from 46543077 to 46603939 contained a defect in the wrist pin bushing. You should get the engine serial number and verify that that engine falls within those numbers, and if it does, was the repair done.

A thorough inspection would be wise.

Otherwise, the Diplomat was a solid coach. Maintenance and care is paramount over the years, however.

Thank you for the info. I don't know if I can get the serial number as the auction company doesn't look like they have a clue about motorhomes. Where I worked they had an OTR with a Cummins and it launched a rod on #2 cylinder if I remember right.

There were some issues with the bigger ISX engines and #6 cylinder. Several threads about that here on IRV2, but that Dip will not have that engine.

I have close to the same model of Diplomat 06 PST with the 400 ISL. I do think it is a solid coach and I have not had any major problems in the four years I have owned it. I do lots of maintenance and stay on top of any issue that pops up. I am surprise my local RV Center, Ericís RV, has not told me about any recalls or defective wrist pin issues.

Any idea what you can buy or what the reserve is ?
$50-60k would be a good price with out a full inspection.

I have a 2007 Diplomat, I bought new. It has an ISL400 and has been a really solid coach.
