Question 2006 HR washer/dryer install

2006 HR Endeaver 40PDQ,want to put in a Spledide w/d in the wall closet. The hookup is there, may have to add vent. Will it fit in the front door, or through the emergency window to be installed??? Please let me know, measuring does not tell me if something else has to move , like the pass. seat. OR do you need 4 strong backs to get over everything?? Help the Muffin Man get clean.

I haven't put one in a monaco but I did put a splendide 7100xc ventless in my Montana that I sold a few weeks ago.
I asked the young strong neighbor next door at the park I was staying at for work to help me carry it in. I had seen him lift his curt 5th wheel hitch out of his ram and hang it on his kingpin by himself, so I knew he was quite sturdy.

He asked me if the door would come off the washer, I said yes and took it off. I asked him how we going to do this and he said Stand back. Then he picked it up with one hand inside the washer and the other hand on the other side, carried it up the steps, sat it down. Got another grip and carried it up the steps into the bedroom and sat it in place.

We just put a washer and dryer in our Knight 38PDQ. Both units fit through the door easily. Both units were about 24 inches wide and our door was 25 1/2. The washer weighed 160lbs, the dryer about 70. I didn’t have to remove the passenger seat, but I did put the curb slides out to give us room, then my step son and I lifted them into the coach, carried them to the back bedroom corner, hooked up the supply lines, drain hose & dryer vent and lifted them into the closet. Stacked the dryer on the washer utilizing the original shelf with additional brackets and support.

I did have to install the dryer vent to the outside, but other than the anxiety of cutting a 4 1/4 hole in the side of my coach, it was easy. I’ve added a few photos of prep work and vent install.

My wife wonders why I hadn’t done this sooner, she loves it.

Should go through front door, you will have to remove 4 screws on door open stop at top of door, this will allow door to open wider to allow entry,.
Also need to remove passenger seat, 4 nuts to remove plus unplug 2 wires exiting floor. I used a harbor freight dolly to roll w/d to rear of coach, then had to lift bed and prop up to allow w/d passage. Not a difficult install. Good luck.

Muffin Man-

I can't help you with the door clearance; my coach is a gasser. The Splendide 2100XC fit through, no problem. Some have reported removing a diesel's passenger seat from the pedestal makes it easier to get the unit inside.

Pictures of prep work in my coach are at this post.

Whoever put the first Splendide into our coach did not put the vent in line with the W/D fitting, which means the vent hose is all scrunched up- a potential lint trap/fire hazard. It also caused the ABS drain piping to have an odd shape.

Unless they have changed things since last year, the factory-supplied Splendide hoses are UK, not U.S., fittings on the W/D end. They look a lot alike, but the threads are slightly different. If you try to use hoses made with U.S. fittings they may leak, and you may distort the W/D plastic inlet fittings so that the factory-supplied hoses leak. Upshot: Try to make the factory-supplied hoses work.

My coach has about 28 inches between the cabinet opening (with the doors removed) and the bathroom door on the opposite side of the hall. There is no room to put someone in front of the W/D when it is out of the cabinet, so all lifting must be done from the sides. To load the W/D into the cabinet, I attached a platform (made from 2 by 4s and MDF) to a dolly. The platform was high enough to get the W/D over the lip without lifting. This made it very easy to slide the unit in and out, which I had to do several times for one reason or the other. I've since used the dolly-with-platform in my house, to make it easier to lift the window A/C into the window.
