2006 LaPalma DP

hi folks,

just picked up our new-to-us LaPalma yesterday and getting it set up for us. I found a ScanGuage II invaluable in my Rialta, so I ordered a ScanGuage D for the LaPalma ... but ... of course ... the manuals say nothing about where one might find the J1708 plug. The ScanGuage folks suggest it's usually on the drivers side firewall, but I see nothing there ... anyone with a similar Monaco have a suggestion on where to look? I know the DW will freak if I pull out a screwdriver and start pulling off panels.

On my 07 neptune (one model above your lapalma) it is attached to the side of the cover around the steering shafts. It's toward the top in plain site. It has a silver cover you rotate to remove and the plug for scangaugeD slides right in.

Mine is to the left of the steering column and tight against the bottom edge of the dashboard.
Actually had my 9 year old grandson climb under the dash area to look for it as it was hard to find.

My '06 Vacationer DP (clone of yours) has the plug mounted under the dash to the left side of the column. Its in plane view and has a round black cap covering the socket. My Scan Gauge D plugs in there and works fine.

thanks guys, but no luck finding mine ... looked everywhere under the dash and against the left firewall. I guess when I get her home, I will have to start taking the dash cladding off. Fortunately everything seems to be working fine, so I don't "need" the ScanGauge (yet).
