2007 Monaco Diplomat

I have a 2007 Monaco Diplomat 40 STF Diesel pusher. The check engine light comes on and off periodically. I took it in for service and they replace a fuel sensor, but the issue still occurs. When this happens, the Aladdin screen fades in and out as thought there is a loose connection or something is wrong with the voltage/amperage.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it a Monaco thing?

Looking for answers or suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Don,
I have not experienced your same problem, but if you had a scan gauge or vmspc, you could read any trouble codes that may have registered. Your Aladdin problem could also be a bad ground - that is a common issue with Monaco dash displays.

This may sound dumb but how long has it been since you changed both the primary and secondary fuel filters?

Good one Bob. Noting that they replaced a fuel sensor it sure would make sense to change the filters.

Don, welcome to the forum. How long have you owned the coach?

I had the oil and filters changed 3000 miles ago.

I have had my coach since July 2018. My wife are attempting to go full time for the next few years to travel the USA.

Starting with pictures of your batteries clean and tighten everything in sight. Exercise the battery switches inside the compartment.

If you can be connected to shoreline for several hours carefully feel the large solenoid on the back wall of your battery compartment. It can be hot to the touch so be careful. It should at least be quite warm.

Measure the voltage on both battery banks with a digital meter. They should be exactly the same when plugged in after a small time delay for things to stabilize and combine.

Of course I am assuming no modifications have been made by a previous owner.

Do NOT forget to follow the ground leads of the batteries to the chassis point and clean those shiny new.

Once you have those back to factory clean and tight then go to the panel below the driver on the outside. Open the large and small boxes and tighten everything is sight.

The loss of the Alladin power along with the alarm does sound like dash grounds but all the aforementioned stuff must be done to eliminate those nagging issues the haunt all of us.

Check the chassis battery disconnect switch. Remove it and look inside for arcing or burning.

Can't help with that but noticed that you are kinda new on IRV2 and wanted to say hello! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Hi Don!

I have the 2008 version of your motorhome and I've had the same issue. I've checked everything but if it doesn't go out right away, it does if I stop and cycle the engine off and then back on. It's a pesky issue but I've never found a code?? I do not have the Aladdin issue just the check engine light.

Best to you! If you find something I'd love to hear.

Doug

problem

Check antifreeze level. If it is low when you run the engine and it warms up it can cause this. My two cents

safe travels

Thanks Flying Butch. Great suggestion but unfortunately that's not my fix. :-)
