Hypoxia, yes the touch screen works well. I have two Kenwood systems in the front dash. One is the stereo-Aladdin- and camera display all rolled into one near the driver. The other is the Kenwood LZ-702W touch screen display in the center dash that is connected to just the Garmin KNA-G510 GPS.
Johnboy, I agree. Your GVN-53 is the identical Garmin version of the Kenwood KNA-G510. Have you located it?
I put in several destinations to test it. If it is only a 300 mile destination, it computes very fast. When I put in a 1500 mile plus destination, it takes maybe 30 sec to compute. Garmin also made an FM traffic, weather, and stocks receiver for the 510. Might be hard to find.
Due to a shipping screw-up, I had a second SD card with the 2017 map update, but returned it yesterday.
