2007 Monaco Roof Leak

I've had my 2007 Monaco Cayman for a few months getting already for trip south. Just notice a leak on roof.by drivers side top windshield. Previous owner had same issue 10 months ago and got it fixed had all sealant on vents, light markers antenna etc replaced and the window seal resealed with eurethane? Now the leak is back. Anyone else have this issue? Is it a common problem? I have an appointment for Tuesday for repair.

My leak was actually back just a bit from yours. You might want to check where the front cap attaches to the roof. I removed all calk and used 4 inch eternabond then calked the leading edge of the Eternabond. I found that once I had removed the original calking that the metal molding was actually loose where it started to make the radius turn down the side. My only problem was that I have full body paint and I used white Eternabond which now shows since I brought it over the radius and down about an inch or so. Have experimented with paint but it does not stay on too long.

Previous owner sept 2013 repaired roof and had roof painted bill of $1600. It doesn't say what the roof repair was? But as stated there was a leak after repair apr 2014. Now I have another leak in same area? I would take it back to Monaco RV Colburg Or but I can't wait due to leak will have it repaired in Vancouver BC.

Try to find a SealTech dealer near you. They have a patented method for applying air pressure inside the coach then soaping down the outside to look for bubbles. Probably the best technique available for finding leaks. There are also instructions on the internet on how to do this yourself but in your case I think I would leave it to a professional since so much work has already been done.

Hurk,
I had exactly the same leak on my 07 Diplomat. I found the top of the driver's window leaking right were the plastic molding terminates on top of it. After I fixed that, I also noticed that the sealant along the seam between the front cap and roof where it bends over the edge, kept breaking loose. So, I peeled back the plastic molding and found the aluminum channel pulled loose allowing the roof fiberglass to pull away from the front cap. The screws holding the aluminum channel on were broken off. I drilled and shot new stainless screws and re-sealed the area. It has held so far. I plan to go over it with eternabond and paint it to match the coach later.

Good luck. These leaks can really ruin your day.

Google is your friend but you have to spell it right to search. It's SealTech SealTech Manufacturing USA | Industry Standard for RV Leak Detection

I took my rig in and they found that all the joints that were fixed in April of this year were brittle and cracked. They found the leak by the rear end of the awning and as the RV was parked with slope to front the leak travelled alway to front from passengers side to drivers front, amazing would never have thought! I looked at the roof before repair and sure enough the sealant was shot. Monaco RV in Eugene used Acrly-R for the sealant poor job/product. For my unit now they used SIKAFLEX 715. It apparently is very flexible. They showed me the dicor and SIKAFLEX sample and the SIKAFLEX was indeed more flexible and may resist the vibrations more. We shall see. I had replaced with SIKAFLEX front and rear caps, patio awning cap antenna, skylight! Should now stay dry?

Well had hard rain and wind last night and leak is back. Have appointment for Monday 8:30 am for further work. They resealed both front and rear caps but I noticed just the top joint and not the ends? We shall see!

Took rig back in and now they believe the windshield move out slightly and there is a small gap at the top drivers side corner. I am taking it to speedy auto glass to have windshield refit and sealed. Cross my fingers. Once I get the REK installed there won't be as muck rock and role and maybe joints and windshield will stay put?
