2008 Holiday Rambler GCFI PROBLEM

I have one string of outlets and a GCFI that work and another that does not. On the one that does not I plugged in an electric fry pan, it worked for a minute then I lost power. I tried to reset the associated GCFI and get nothing. When I put a multimeter on each GCFI connection I do not have power. I reset every circuit breaker on the panel as I do not have a wiring diagram and the panel labels do not tell me which breaker is associated with the outlets. Still no power at the GCFI. I really need some help.

Welcome: Please post your model number.

I will take a stab that you have the thing in the kitchen. Look at your Inverter/Converter that is likely located in a cabinet outside. On the side may be two small push button breakers that supply power to a couple of places.

I know you mention the GFCI but I'm not confident you are intimately familiar with your power path.

Power on my 2008 Endeavor for some of the outlets in the kitchen start at the AC breaker panel with a 30 amp AC breaker. Then it goes to the inverter/converter. It goes through a couple of relays inside as well as the two breakers mentioned. They are both 20 amp so can be overloaded in the kitchen if you are not careful.

My microwave is on one of the 20 amp breakers without anything else on that line. If I get in a jam I use a small extension cord and plug it in to the Microwave outlet. Of course I'm not running the microwave at that time.

I use two induction plates, an electric coffee pot, a toaster, and a dish washer. So I can get to the limit quickly.

Hope this helps

I did not realize there were reset buttons on the inverter. One button out, pushed and reset. Everything back to normal. Note to self. Your management suggestions are also helpful. If you are ever in KY. Give me a holler. Reed208@CS.COM. I'll buy you and your wife dinner.

I live to serve. Glad you have it solved. Go to this site and download all of the files when you have a good internet speed. These files have been gathered since buying our RV in 2008. Included is information from a factory CD that has hundreds of files that were carefully renamed and catergorized. When you open a pdf see if there are any yellow post it like notes. Mouse over and click to get them to pop up. There are notes gathered over the years that might be helpful.
