2008 Monaco Camelot a ceiling speaker stopped working

I noticed one of the rear living room ceiling speakers stopped working. Has anyone had that? I am not sure if it is the speaker or wiring somewhere, but it does not work with with the receiver, tv or dash radio. How do you get the cover off?

Also i need to replace the rca rtd258 with another receiver with, if possible, a single cd/dvd/blu-ray, but use the existing wiring. (We still have the original tv). I really just want to be able to play music without having to have the rv on to play the dash radio.

I would make sure settings Fader and Balance are both centered first. Do you have wiring diagrams to double check for hidden installed amps. I have three amps and sub under jacknife sofa. Those grills usually are just pressed into a grove in plastic bezel . A 9v battery can test a speaker in sorts ,tapping or scratching across leads can show if open circuit and proper polarity if pos & neg is right the speaker moves outward with a tap on 9v battery.
If radio picks up power in front elect bay powering from house batts may be easy as moving wire to house side fuse rail . Might be a spare slot or add a an inline fuse surface mount fuse holder.

I agree, a small battery across the speaker terminals after disconnecting one or both of them and the speaker will make a loud pop. Do not continue to hold the battery onto the connections.

Can't help with suggestions on the receiver. I'm many generations beyond that one. My cabinet is an oven even with numerous cooling methods.

I no longer have a receiver at all in there. With a blue tooth speaker etc you can use lots of devices to bring your music in.

Dvd players have lots of options.

After doing the above suggestions, and still no luck, swap the rare two speakers to see if the problem followed the speaker or stayed with the location.

If it is at the location, pull out the receiver to look at the push connectors on the back. You will probably have to remove the hold open support of that cabinet to get the receiver out.

There is a large electronic box behind the TV that the wires feed into and out. Both the dash radio wires and the amplifier wires feed into it. That box feeds the five speakers and the sub.

The cover towards the windshield comes off the TV cabinet, to see the speaker wires in/out. This box works automagically to send either the dash radio or RCA amp signals to the speakers.

Iíve had my coach since new and eliminated that box. How do you hear the radio driving down the road with speakers overhead and pointed away from you?! Dash radio now goes to speakers in A pillars and 6 x 9's on the side consoles.

My RCA goes to the five overhead speakers and the sub. I took the sub out of the cabinet and placed it under the couch.

I also added a dash switch to power the radio with the key off. Some coaches had them, ours did not. Simple addition.

It now is a "normal" system that makes sense.

Start with the speaker swap, then look at the back of the amp. There is over three feet of wire behind the amp for you to pull it and look at the back.

Hope it is a simple wire connection that is your issue.
