2008 Monaco Dynasty - Entry Door Issues
This past week the wife and I went and boondocked in our rig for the first time and after traveling down a pretty rough road, our entry door will not close. We have had to use the dead bolt key to keep the door closed. I have tried to adjust the pins, but whatever I am doing it is not working. Any help would be awesome! Thank you

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I had to go in and readjust my door latch, but I'm sure yours would be different since it's much newer! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I can't diagnose your problem but I'm pretty sure those pins are meant to
be able to float a little bit .
This is so as you travel and the coach flexes the door can be allowed to move
in its opening .
There is a process for adjusting the mechanism , it is done from inside the door .
A search might turn up the instructions .
There is a search window in the upper right , then below that is another "search",
there you can do a better more advanced search .
Experiment with searching that way and you can eventually tailor the search
to narrow down the subject to what you want .

Thanks for getting back to me. I first tried the search and didn't have luck, that's why I tried starting my own. I will continue to search...
The mechanism for the pins do float and I have adjusted them, but for some reason, the door just will not latch. Hopefully after figuring it out I can post back on here to relay have it's done.

Don't know if this will help, but here is a file on adjusting the entrance door.

When you say the door wont close don't you actually mean it wont latch when
you close it ?
Ken posted a document that shows you how it works and is adjusted .
Usually people are having trouble getting the door to open or close easily .
Since yours seems to not be working at all I think before I started adjusting
I would look for something that is binding , stuck or has come loose .
Someone recently reported that lubricating the mechanism inside the door
solved their problem .
I think they used silicone but I prefer Triflo lube
You want a lube that is dry , not sticky etc so it will not attract dirt .

The door won't latch. I found the document and downloaded it. Now need to try and make the adjustments. I will also try the lube. I think that is needed as well. I appreciate you getting back with me!
