2009 Cayman audio/visual wire routing

Background: My Cayman has the TV mounted on the curb side slide-out. It sits on top of a cabinet that has a pull-out set of drawers. My satellite controls, receiver, DVD player, outlets, etc. sit above the curb side door.

This motorhome was built during the industry transition to HDMI. I have a HDMI television, but Monaco only wired the coach for component high-definition. So, I can't install a blue-ray player or use a receiver that uses only HDMI.

I would like to string some HDMI cabling from the receiver area to the TV area, but can't figure out how the cabling is routed to the TV area... or how to access any of it. The only place that I see wires coming into the slide is at the rear of the slide from underneath the refrigerator.

Does anyone have any experience with this setup?

Also, it looks like I might be able to access some of the wiring if I could remove the pull-out set of drawers. Does anyone know how to release it from the cabinet?

Thank you,

Ron

If you mean the drawers under the reefer they should just lift out when at full extension. And yes that is a great place to get wires inside the coach. As far as HDMI, I would look at Cat 6 cable instead. Easier to work with and good for longer runs and better signal than HDMI. You may need some converters (switches) to mate up to them but they work really well and sooner or later HDMI will be gone the way of the rabbit ear antenna.

Thanks for the reply!

My pull-out cabinet is under the TV. When pulled out, it creates a counter top with three drawers under it.

Access under the refrigerator is easy... just four screws to remove the panel.

Your idea about Cat 6 cable is good... but I figure HDMI on devices will be around longer than this motorhome.
