Hi Jeff357; As far as I know that year of Knight was under the ownership of Navistar and later sold to REV. I was looking at one back in 2014 in Mesa Az. but decided to pass at that time due to price. That coach should have the Maxforce 10 engine in it and a lot of owners say they have not had many problems with that engine. From REV you still should be able to find some support, parts etc. If you get the coach VIN. number you can call REV and they will email you the build sheet and data sheet. Keep asking questions here for a lot more info as I am sure you will hear from owners of that coach. I did not think it was a bad coach with the 8 air bag suspension. Much the same as my 01 Windsor. I just paid a whole lot less for my Windsor than what I would have had to pay for the Knight.

I have had very few problems with parts or support with my 2012 Monaco Knight. We purchased the coach new from Lazy Days in Florida. I suspect that coach has the Maxxforce 10 engine and you will probably receive negative replies advising to avoid because of that. I have had very few issues with my Maxxforce 10 but many think it is a bad engine because of all of the problems with the Maxxforce 13 which is found in large trucks. That engine did have many issues but most owners of the Maxxforce 10 have been happy. Most who reply negatively do not have actual experience with the engine. The Maxxforce 10 engine does not like to be idled for long periods and will result in a clogged DPF. We pull a Jeep Wrangler in the mountain areas and have found power to be adequate. It has an exhaust brake so confirm that is working as it should. One nice thing is that engine does not require any DPF fluid that is common with most coaches in that age range. The coach you are looking at is very low miles for that age and my concern would be it hasn't been driven enough. Not a problem if properly maintained but I would check the maintenance records closely and make sure it has not been sitting without any use for long periods of time. The Maxxforce has two fuel filters that are easy to access but would want to make sure those have been changed annually and that it does not have stale fuel etc. My coach has 29000 miles which I consider very low but try and drive it at least once a month regardless of camping plans. In my opinion too low mileage can be worse than coaches with higher mileage so just be careful with that. There was also a computer update that should have been done on that engine so I would confirm it was done.

Good luck with your search!

We had a 2013 Monaco Diplomat 43DFT and put 45,000 miles on it. While it wasn't perfect, it was a good coach and treated us well for 7 years of fulltime use. The only engine issue was needing a new wiring harness cause the original on had worn a hole in it. (Changed out under warranty). There are very few parts that would be specific to Monaco. We never ran into a problem of not being able to get something we needed
