The connectors on the TCL are to the left side of the TV which required the extra length. The power connector is on the right side of the TV, which is, of course, the opposite side from the power plug on the lift mechanism and required a longer power cord.

The TCL has no buttons on the TV either so I did not have to provide clearance for a hand or fingers. You need the remote to control it. I need to check if TCL has a phone app to control it.

Ours is an Lifestyle 38. The speakers sounded tinny/crackly and the bass was intermittent. I suspected the amp on the subwoofer that powers all the speakers was going out.

I stopped at Bose and the recommended upgrade path was the Bose LifeStyle 600 for a reduced (from $2,999) trade up price of $2,200. There is no longer factory service available for the AV38.

On the LIfestyle 600 the rear speakers and sub are wireless, so that eliminates the wiring to those, but they will need 120V. The front speakers would need to be wired to the media center. It does not have an internal CD/DVD player.

We are visiting Tampa for a few days and found someone on Craigslist selling a compatible subwoofer. He was somewhat of a Bose expert.

He was nice enough to come to Lazy Days and troubleshoot to confirm the issue was In the subwoofer, install his one, then calibrated the system using the Bose AdaptIQ.

It is now working as intended and the sound is OK and will keep me going for a while.

We watched DirecTV on the 49" TCL tonight and the picture and now the sound was great!

I guess I was fortunate to have mine refurbished by Bose last year.

What remote are you guys using for the Bose Lifestyle 38/48?
Mine came with one of the all-in-one remotes (MX-700 Home Theater Master) and its just not working with the Lifestyle 38.
Without a remote I haven't even been able to play a DVD or control the sound input.

Dave, do you have the Lifestyle 28 or Lifestyle 38?

I assumed the remote model number corresponded with the Lifestyle model number.

Thanks. I need to find a remote. Can't even play a DVD.
They sure are expensive! If they only had Blu-ray, Bluetooth, HDMI and some real base.

The unit in our 2005 Signature is a Lifestyle 38 (Series I) that predates these models.

This thread made me start thinking about installing speaker wires from the entertainment center to the galley the next time I have to remove the bay ceiling covers. That would allow the Bose system to be replaced with any AV system.

I blew a 5/8" coolant hose this summer and will probably run new heater hose this winter, that would be a good time to do it. The hose at the engine looks good on the outside but is rotten on the inside.

It's an easy job when everything is opened up.

It is a toss up between that and running speaker wires fro the entertainment center to the two rear speaker positions, and from the entertainment center to wherever the Sub will be mounted, possibly in the galley too

My 07 Exec had a Sony system with the large sub-wolfer under the booth dinette.
I used the existing wires and just replaced all the components.
Afterward, I had Blue-ray, HDMI, Bluetooth, and a modern system with a minimum of work. Replacing/updating this Bose system is going to be a lot more work and money!
